Electronic Measurement of track gage and elevation. Towed behind a Hy-Rail vehicle, this "Trak-Skan" unit measures gage deviations plus or minus 1 - 1/2" and up to 7" inches of cross level. Both gage and elevation are displayed on an electronic digital display. Measurement can be done at speeds up to 15 mph. Optional paint sprayer marks problem areas. You are left with an accurate measurement of gage and elevation of your track, so track crews can focus on potentially dangerous areas! This service is quick, cost effective and accurate! You may have service provided on a one time basis, yearly or quarterly. This service can normally be accomplished in as little as a few hours to a day. Cost is normally on a per mile basis, plus travel expenses. A representative (Roadmaster, etc.) of your company is required to accompany us to make marker identification and to take notes for your track inspection reports. Your Hy-Rail vehicle is used to tow our "Trak-Skan" Unit. A 12 volt power supply (cigarette lighter receptacle) and ball hitch is all that is needed. This service is provided by TRACK EVALUATION SERVICES. The equipment used to perform this service is made by a major U.S. manufacturer of Maintenance of Way equipment, and is maintained in excellent condition.
